Salamander DC Reimagined

In late 2022, we brought our welcoming and diverse style of luxury hospitality to the new heart of the nation’s capital. Since then,
guests have enthusiastically responded to our approachable level of service. Now, after a diligent planning period, we have finalized details of a beautiful property transformation.

We are currently undergoing an enhancement project that will showcase a brighter and more residential design, including striking gathering spaces, an expanded two-story spa, modernly refreshed guest suites, and Dōgon, a new restaurant by acclaimed Chef Kwame Onwuachi.

While this work takes place, we are committed to providing our guests with an exemplary level of service and a highly convenient base from which to explore and enjoy Washington, D.C. Our enhancement work is scheduled to conclude later this Summer and will be undertaken in a way to minimize impact to the guest experience.

The indoor pool is temporarily closed, and our fitness facility has relocated to Garden I on the lobby level. While Salamander Spa level is closed for enhancements, our dedicated spa reception and services are currently available on our 2nd floor.

Lobby

The Lobby will transform into a spectacular living room with additional seating, brighter colors, and an ambiance of comfort and refined elegance. We will close off this space with thoughtful design work to ensure guest safety and a seamless check-in experience.

Salamander Spa

Renowned as one of the finest spas in the region, we are adding a lobby-level entrance, a Men’s Grooming Lounge, and additional treatment rooms to showcase new contemporary services. While Salamander Spa level is closed for enhancements, including our indoor pool and waterfacilities, our dedicated spa reception and services are currently available on our 2nd floor. Please visit our Front Desk to receive access to this space for your spa appointment. The fitness center has relocated to Garden I, a spacious, sun-lit room on the lobby level.

Suites

Reimagined by renowned designer, Thomas Pheasant, every suite will undergo a complete refurbishment, introducing brighter furnishings that showcase natural light, and modern touches. Work will take place on two floors simultaneously to expedite the process, and while this may lead to reduced availability during some periods, it should not impact our valued guests.

Monument Club

The reopening of the hotel’s Monument Club later this Summer will create an elevated and personalized experience for corporate groups and hotel guests alike. The redesign will maximize the sweeping views of the two-story space, featuring modern furniture, wall coverings, and beautifully appointed decor.

The Lounge

Accentuated with elegance and natural light, The Lounge will transform into a modern and inviting living room with more seating, comfortable dining spaces, and a sophisticated stone top bar. Exquisite dining options are available as we elevate the luxury experience for our guests.
