Exuding a sense of comfortable luxury, our spacious hotel rooms, elevated culinary experiences and world-class spa make us the perfect location to explore the nation's capital. 

Salamander Washington DC is currently undergoing an enhancement project. While this work takes place, we are committed to providing our guests with an exemplary level of service and a highly convenient base from which to explore and enjoy Washington, D.C. Our enhancement work is scheduled to conclude later this Summer and will be undertaken in a way to minimize impact to the guest experience.

What are the closest major and local transportation hubs to the hotel?

Guests have convenient access to major transportation hubs including Ronald Reagan International Airport within a 12-minute drive, and Union Station within a 15-minute drive. Additionally, the local Washington, D.C. metro train stations are only blocks away, at the Smithsonian Station (2 blocks) and L'Enfant Plaza Station (3 blocks).

What are the major attractions closest to the hotel?

The property features a footbridge for guests to enjoy private walking access to the District Wharf on the Southwest waterfront, a vibrant location offering restaurants, shops and waterfront activities. Salamander DC is also conveniently located two blocks from The National Mall, home to the Smithsonian Institution Building, National Museum of Natural History, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, National Air and Space Museum, United States Botanic Garden, and much more. 

PARKING and hotel transportation

Where can I park my vehicle?

Salamander Washington DC is the nearest hotel parking garage to the National Mall in Southwest DC, with all-day parking for both guests and non-guests of the hotel. Guests can enjoy hotel valet parking 24-hours daily, and may call for their vehicle at least 10 minutes prior to departure.

Where can I park my oversized vehicle?

All oversized vehicles including buses, camper RV's, and cars with trailers are not permitted in the garage. Please use alternative parking options available at Union Station. 

How much does it cost to valet my vehicle?

We offer valet parking at an overnight rate of $79. Our daily rates are $56 (2-8 hours) or $44 (0-2 hours). Motorcycles are permitted in the garage at the same fee as vehicles. 

Does your hotel have transportation options?

Located at the hotel's entrance, our Salamander Gem Car is available daily from 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM, weather permitting, for complimentary drop-off service to The National Mall area up to Constitution Avenue, as well as to The Wharf. Private airport sedan transfer, limousine service, mini coaches or buses may be arranged through our Guest Services team.

ROOMS AND SUITES

How many floors does your hotel have?

Salamander DC offers nine floors. Our guest rooms are located on the third to ninth floors of the hotel. All of our 373 beautifully appointed rooms including our 51 spacious suites offer views over the city or the elegant waterfront. 

What is your hotel's cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy varies depending on the package booked and will be outlined both within the booking engine and your confirmation email. Please call 844.860.2741 to cancel or modify a reservation.

Is Salamander DC pet friendly?

We are passionate about providing our guests, both human and canine, with a luxurious and relaxing escape. We welcome a maximum of two (2) dogs per guestroom, per stay and should not exceed 60 pounds each. A non-refundable $150 cleaning fee per stay will apply.

Are reservations required at your dining outlets?

Reservations are currently not required for standard dining. Our culinary experiences including Afternoon Tea do require reservations, which can be secured by emailing [email protected] with your preferred date and time.

What spa services are available while the Salamander Spa level is closed for enhancements?

During this time, we are offering a limited yet exquisite selection of relaxing treatments, providing a modified spa experience within the comfort of one of our newly dedicated treatment rooms, thoughtfully designed to ensure uninterrupted relaxation. View our modified treatment menu. 

Is your indoor pool open?

Our indoor pool, located on our Spa level, is currently closed for enhancements. Once our pool reopens, this will be available year-round to hotel guests only.

Do you have a fitness center?

While our Spa level is closed for enhancements, our fitness facility has been relocated. Please visit our Front Desk or call 202.787.6170 for more information regarding the fitness and wellness services that we have available throughout your stay.

Salamander DC features a range of venues offering space, originality, and state-of-the-art technology, capable of hosting events of all sizes. With a 5,000 square foot Grand Lawn offering views of the Southwest waterfront, nine versatile meeting rooms and two ballrooms, including our 8,300 square foot Grand Ballroom featuring 18-foot ceilings and private access, our hotel is the ideal location for meetings and events.
